Rui's paper on developmental stage specific cryopreservation challenges of sensory neurons has been published in Frontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, congrats Rui!

We welcome Akshat Mallya and Nikhil Bhardwaj to our group!  Akshat is a PhD student in mechanical engineering and Nikhil is a Masters student in biomedical engineering

Allison is the president-elect of the Society for Cryobiology!  

From the executive director Nicole Evans:  "Allison will become the first female President of the Society for Cryobiology which is notable and to be celebrated. I have no doubt she will serve as an inspiration to many young women cryobiologists to put themselves forward for leadership positions within the Society in years to come."

Rui Li successfully defended her thesis "Mechanistic Investigation of Cell Cryopreservation Aided by Raman Spectroscopy: Challenges and Solutions for hiPSC Technologies", congrats *Doctor* Li!

Maddy Wagner and Kyle Knofczynski have returned from their summer internships to continue their honors thesis work, good luck Maddy and Kyle!

Allison was named a CryoFellow of the Society for Cryobiology and will receive the Basil Luyet Medal at the next CRYO meeting. Congratulations, Allison!

Kyle is off to a summer research position at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, congrats!

Grace is joining us as an REU student this summer through ATP-Bio, welcome Grace!

Colin successfully defended his masters thesis on the cryopreservation of Jurkat and regulatory T-cells, congratulations Colin!

Our shiny new cryogenic freezer has arrived from MVE expanding our biological material storage as we expand our research!

Troy Louwagie and Tessa Burrows have joined our group.  Troy will be working on preservation of drosophila and Tessa will be working on preservation of lung and heart cells.  Welcome Troy and Tessa!
